In loving memory of

LaVerne Bean Turner
June 8, 1923 - March 2, 2010

LaVerne Turner, beautiful and beloved wife, mother and grandmother left this life for an eternity in heaven on Tuesday, March 2, 2010.

She was born June 8, 1923 in Pine Bluff, Arkansas, daughter of Russell and Myrtle Springfield Bean.

Mrs. Turner was reared and received her early education in Pine Bluff and Dumas, graduating from Dumas High School.

She was a devoted wife in caring for her husband and a sweet and loving mother. She was a marvelous cook and an accomplished seamstress. She was a long-time member of First Presbyterian Church in Pine Bluff where she was a member of the sanctuary choir.

Mrs. Turner was preceded in death by her parents and younger brother, Leon Myhand of Pine Bluff.

Survivors include her husband of 63 years, Harvest Penn (H.P.) Turner of Pine Bluff; three children, Lynne Turner Davis of Olive Branch, Mississippi; Richard Penn Turner of White Hall; and Mark Kevin Turner of Rison; three sisters, Helen Bean Jones of Pine Bluff; Frances Scionti of Waco, Texas and Joyce Rodgers of Little Rock; brother, Robert Tarleton of Caseyville, Illinois; three grandsons, Trevor Davis, Zach Davis and Jared Davis all of Olive Branch, Mississippi and three great-grandsons.

Visitation will be in McColgan Hall of First Presbyterian Church in Pine Bluff from 12 noon until service time on Thursday, March 4, 2010 followed by a funeral service at the church at 1:30 PM with Reverend Jim Freeman and Reverend Trevor Davis officiating. Burial will be private. Arrangements were handled by Ralph Robinson & Son Funeral Directors.
