Frances Ginnett, 86, of Pine Bluff, Arkansas, died Monday, February 1, 2010, at Jefferson Regional Medical Center.
She was born January 3, 1924, in Wells Bayou, Lincoln County, to Billy Bob and Lula Chance Norris.
Mrs. Ginnett was reared and educated in Wells Bayou and graduated from Dumas High School. She also attended business school.
She had worked as a secretary for Olive Street Missionary Baptist Church, now known as Olive Branch Missionary Baptist Church, before retiring in 1984. She was a Girl Scout Leader, worked in the Children's Chapel, volunteered her time with the State Police and helping others. After retirement she became a homemaker.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Oscar H. Ginnett, whom she married on June 20, 1943, in Pine Bluff; her parents; seven brothers and two sisters.
Survivors include her daughters, Frances Kay Crill of Humphrey, Gwendolyn Sue Ginnett of Pine Bluff; grandchildren, Tonya Ann Ginnett and Morris Hilton Crill.
Visitation will be 6 to 8 PM, Tuesday at Robinson's.
Services are 10 AM, Wednesday, February 3, 2010, Chapel of Ralph Robinson & Son, with Dr. Roger Stewart officiating. Burial will follow in Memorial Park Cemetery.
